Supporter Route Info

There is no need for drivers/supporters to interact with riders during the race, however our host venues, the Zuurberg Mountain Village and Kuzuko Lodge, are luxury establishments which have plenty to offer for those not taking part in the race.

Supporters and spectators will be treated to an unforgettable experience.

Stage 1 is a circular route, supporters are advised to relax at the Zuurberg Mountain Village on day 1 or take in some of the numerous activities on offer.

Stage 2 is a point to point stage. The race route from the Zuurberg Mountain Village to Kuzuko Lodge is unfortunately not suitable for normal vehicles.

The main access road for support vehicles is via Patterson and over the Olifantskop Pass (Click Here for a supporters map). Drivers can watch the start of the race and enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading to the finish of stage 2. Kuzuko Lodge has plenty to offer so we recommend you plan to get there early. While you wait you can enjoy spa treatments, the swimming pool, playground for the kiddies and a game drive amongst the big 5.

Drivers who want to see the riders along the route may do so at Anns Villa, which is about halfway on stage 2. Just after Anns Villa riders will be going into game farms which are out of bounds for vehicles. From Anns Villa drivers must proceed to Kuzuko Lodge via the main road and wait for riders at the finish.

Supporters who wish to drive the first section of the route may do so (4x4's or vehicles with high ground clearance are essential) , but they must remain behind the last rider and sweep vehicle until Anns Villa. This is a very scenic drive and will give you a taste of what the riders are experiencing.
