Hayterdale Half Marathon
May 02, 2013
December 20, 2018
Mountain Events welcomes all mountain bikers to come and be part of the festivities at the 3rd leg of the CSA XCO & DHI Nationals.
Cross Country and Downhill racing are without a doubt the most exciting forms of mountain bike racing and we realise that this type of racing is not everyone's cup of tea. So, we have put together a mini marathon race to take place at the same venue and on the same weekend as the Nationals. This is a great opportunity to experience the beauty of the Zuurberg mountains and to get a taste of the milder sections of the much acclaimed Nationals XCO course at Hayterdale.

At just under 30km, the race is short - but its jam packed with some of the best sections of MTB riding in the area.
Racing starts at 7AM and most riders will be finished before the main runs of the Downhill race which takes place at the same venue. This is a great opportunity to watch our countries top downhill riders in action. The downhill course includes a spectacular jump over an 8ft game fence, right before the finish line - not to be missed!!
Please Note: There will be a cut-off at the 20km mark at 09:45 (2:45 into the race). Riders reaching this point after the cut-off time will be diverted on a shortcut back to the Start/Finish area. This is to ensure that the event is finished in time for the Downhill racing which starts at 10:00.
